I lost my MySQL database in a server crash, all my old content is gone… I’ll be working on restoring the projects page shortly. I’m hoping I can get everything back to the way it was soon.
Had a great play test tonight. First off, I wanna thank all everyone envolved for doing the play test tonight, and for all the valuable feedback I got from them. For the most part everything went very smoothly, and I’m rather pleased with how the map came out. There were however a few problems. The only major problem that came up in play testing was the the intel room was too small. Players were able to basically could rush the intel room, and even with a level three sentry in it move it to the door and out to the hall in about 4 lives. Outside of that however, there were a few other bugs in the map, which will require me to place some player clips to prevent players from standing on the other side of the rail near the stairs in both bases.
Anyway as a result of the minor fixes and the feed back from the play testing, I’m going to continue working on the map this week to fix the problems and to better polish the rest of the map. I have all intention to release the map next weekend.
Finally discovered the trick to getting the skybox to look right. The problem I was having was making a new displacement line up. Then I realize that I could just duplicate and mirror the displacement that was already on them map. So I did that and HUZZAH!!! It worked. I kept the same models that I had in the skybox before (removed the cows though) but I clustered them up so they would just block sight. (continue reading…)
